How to Operate Plantation Shutters

We care about our customers concerns. Kresta welcomes everyone to ask us any questions, and our customer service are happy to help. The following parts will show you how to open and close your plantation shutters properly.

Opening and Closing Shutter Louvers

Louvers are the slats on shutters, so adjusting the louvers can affect the indoor light and dark when shutters are closed. Most shutters have louvers connected to a tilt rod that runs down the center of shutter and is connected to all lovers with small staples. It is simple to pull up or down on the tilt rod when you want open or close the shutter louvers.

If your shutters have a hidden tilt rod, which means the mechanism that controls the louvers is either built into the frame or behind the louvers. Just holding one of louvers directly and shift it, and the rest of louvers will follow suit.

Shutters’ frame is permanently attached to the window opening, and the shutter panel which is hinged inside the shutter frame. The shutter panels are held in place by magnets, which are installed into your shutter frame when the shutters are put in.
Closing them is as simple as swinging each shutter panel back toward the window. If you have multiple shutter panels, one shutter panel needs to close before the other can.
